文学士(学士学位.A.)在 College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (CHASS) at the University of the Incarnate Word provides students with an understanding of the world and the diverse forces that shaped the past and influence the present.

B.A. in 历史 degree at 校本 is a 121-hour degree program that provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the history of the United States of America. The 历史 degree program also offers a comprehensive understanding of Global 历史 with regional focus on South Asia, 东亚和东南亚, 中东, 欧洲和拉丁美洲.
The curriculum in 历史 leads students to appreciate and understand the development of the contemporary world through the interaction of diverse forces over space and time. The study of history involves analysis and integration of a broad range of knowledge. 学生 can also expect to take part in engaging and creative approaches to learning including role playing, 和仿真, 辩论和引导讨论, experiential learning and reacting to the past.
学生 in 校本’s 历史 program are required to take two semesters of both World 历史 and U.S. 历史, 基金会 of Historical Research and Making 历史. Additionally, they will take nine credit hours in U.S. 历史, nine credit hours in World 历史 and three additional elective hours of their own choosing. Electives include Texas 历史, 亚洲研究概论, Public 历史 or a 历史 Internship.
校本 has exceptional faculty in the 历史 department who regularly participate in conferences, 出版研究, and actively encourage students to do the same, while also keeping 教学 and mentoring as the primary focus. 通过小班授课, 校本 students build 关闭 relationships with each other and with the faculty members, fostering learning and advancement in the field of 历史.
In addition to the comprehensive understanding of U.S. and World 历史, 校本’s 历史 program also offers specialized and thematic courses. 校本’s specialized courses include Global Human Rights, 全球难民, 移民, 战争与社会, 哈利波特与历史, 星际迷航与历史, Women's 历史 and Gaming in 历史. These specialized 历史 courses give 校本 students an exposure into the complex issues and debates of the 21st century world, providing the historical context to understand the world in which we live.
校本 students are encouraged to study abroad to foster personal growth, increase career aspects and provide experiential learning that isn’t available elsewhere. 校本出国留学 offers students more than 140 study abroad locations around the world, two campuses in Mexico and countless faculty-led programs. 校本’s 出国留学 program promotes the Mission of 校本 by developing enlightened citizens engaged in the human condition across the world. 出国留学 programs offer 校本 students the opportunity to immerse themselves in diverse cultures while gaining new perspectives.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Virtual 出国留学 (VSA) programs are now available with select 校本 Sister Schools.
